It is really hard to express how happy and frustrated at the same time I am! We've been hit by unprecedented levels of traffic in the past few hours. Very impressive considering our traffic levels 2 weeks ago. It is dissappointing to see the site timing out and we can all understand this.
It probably has to do with all the leagues in Europe, Asia and the north/south America. The servers supporting the site can't cope with the load, and as such they will be reinforced by more machine power to handle the load. With several thousands of hits within a single minute, the current infrastructure simply can't cope.
We've been planning for this with our hosting provider during the past couple of weeks, it is just that we did not expect the site to be so popular so soon. Several more servers will be supporting World Cup Latest in a few days time from today. Please be patient until then.
However it is really impressive to note that we managed to get all this traffic without the help of Google, which still treats our site as being not valuable for it's users, while a lot of spammy sites are in it's index and even show up in the first page of their results for some queries, but will come back to this another time with example queries.
