Latin American Giants Knocked Out From European Teams - World Cup Semi-Finals Resemble Euro Cup Final

Europe has dominated world football by knocking out the traditional Semi-Finals giants Argentina and Brazil. The veteran French national football team won the defending World Champions Brazil in a match which was dominated by the French.

It's been quite some time since my last post here.. Loads of things to do and just started to become normal again after non-stop work for weeks.

What a world cup this is...

With the referees taking center stage during the group and knockout stages, with an intense mixture of hapiness, frustration, unfairness and dissapointment we got to the World Cup Final...

The characteristic "easiness" of Pele before the world cup about Brazil being the undoubted favourites to win the tournament in Germany, and the similar comments about the European sides from Maradona, left them wondering what happened and their great teams got sent packing so early.

Argentina turned from underdog to favourite in one match, against the only team which was playing for no specific country, as the split of Serbia & Montenegro into two countries - during the World Cup Finals - had a detrimental effect on the player's performance.

The list with footballers who impressed in this world cup looks more like the World Cup 2002 top footballers as voted by the footballers' wives association.

No certain champions in this world cup. Brazil and England failed to play impressive football and big stars like Ronaldinho and Lampard failed to shine. It is a very natural consequence after playing so many matches in one season for their clubs.

Apart from the Brazil v France match and the wonders of French (veteran) football, nothing as spectacular during the previous matches. It is true that the Brazilian team was never seen as stressed as it was as the minutes of the match went by without managing to equalise.
